Over 50's Computer Training
10 till 12 noon - for complete beginers & 1 till 3pm for those who know how to send and recieve email etc...Don't be afraid - come and join in - you're never too old to learn!
Barbara Stephens who attended the last course said "The beginner's computer class is very informative... I've learned such a lot. I can highly recommend it."
Maggie Faulkner enjoyed it too. This is what she has to say - "the computer class is excellant for people who think they will never understand - I have learned to send e-mails, designing cards e.g. birthday, easter etc., also sending photographs. I've learned various other things and will continue to learn more."
Irene Mort finds it all very useful. She says "I am really enjoying my computer class, we learn something new each week. It’s remembering that’s the trouble!"

MOSI-Along Project... 'Betty's Bits and Bobs'
A short film made by a local resident, Elizabeth Corrie, has been included in The Museum of Science & Industry's MOSI-Along/Cabinets of Curiosities Project. The Museum is working in patnership with a number of agencies and is aiming to encourage people to share their memories and stories in a digital format. In the film, entitled 'Betty's Bits and Bobs' which was produced over several weeks during NEPHRA's Friday afternoon computer classes,
Betty talks about a number of items that feature in her own cabinet of curious objects!

Swimming is even more fun now for the under 16's and 0ver 60's - it’s free!
Manchester City Council has ‘taken the plunge’ and opted in, providing under-16s and over-60s with free swimming all year round.The Government’s £140 million free swimming programme has been designed to extend opportunities to swim and to maximise the health benefits of wider participation in swimming.
“Now the Government is introducing free swimming nationally, which will enable Manchester to develop its swimming programme even further, helping those who haven’t yet benefited from free swimming to be able to do so, and with the tough financial crisis we are all facing, helping to ease the burden on the family budget.
